DR NABIL M AHMED

Dr Nabil Mohamed Ahmed, I am currently pursuing an MSc in Pediatric Dentistry (Clinical) at UWC from February 2023 to December 2024. I earned my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Science and Technology in Khartoum, Sudan, in 2008 and the Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry (MFD) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2017.

Initially, I wasn’t strongly drawn to pediatric dentistry during my studies or early career, despite my love for children and being a favourite babysitter to my nephews and nieces. My hesitation stemmed from concerns about how children, particularly those with special needs, were treated in hospitals in my home country, a situation I found troubling. However, my perspective changed during my time at Fadil Dental Clinic, where I worked closely with children requiring special attention. Witnessing the transformative effect of tailored behaviour management techniques, both pharmacological and non-pharmacological, I understood the importance of offering compassionate, individualized care. This experience profoundly resonated with me, igniting my passion for pediatric dentistry. Since then, I have been committed to providing specialized, compassionate care for all children, particularly those with special needs.
