If you are taking a Mastery Checkpoint and would like to review skills outside of your current math course/level, please log into your Big Ideas account via Clever for digital access to other grade-level textbooks.
If you are in Math 6 and looking to skip to Math 7A for next school year, you will want to review the Math 6 & Math 7 textbook concepts.
If you are in Math 7 and looking to skip to Algebra 1 for next school year, you will want to review the Math 7 & Math 8 textbook concepts.
After the assessment window has closed, score reports will be available for students in the Illuminate Home Connection portal. We anticipate being able to release scores the week of May 26, 2025.

Please note: since the Mastery Checkpoints are one of multiple measures used for placement recommendations, you will not see placement information on your score report. Information regarding placement will be communicated by your 2025-26 school site.

Grade 8 (Alg. 1)
Students will take the Renaissance Star for a third time during the spring assessment window. Please contact your child's current 5th grade teacher for questions about the assessment.
For Grade 5 review, utilize the following:
Freckle Adaptive Practice for all Elementary domains (Base 10, Fractions, Operations & Algebraic Thinking, Geometry, and Measurement & Data)
Students will take the End-of-Year Renaissance Star during the spring assessment window.
For Grade 6-7 review, utilize the following:
Freckle Adaptive Practice for all Grade Level Domains (Geometry, Ratios & Proportions, Expressions & Equations, Statistics & Probability, Number Sense)
For Grade 8 review, utilize the following:
Freckle Adaptive Practice for all Grade Level Domains (Geometry, Expressions & Equations, Statistics & Probability, Number Sense, & Functions)
Current Math 6 & Math 7
No calculators are allowed on this exam
Part 1 must be completed in one 90 minutes (max) sitting. No pausing allowed. It will automatically time you out after 90 minutes. Part 1 is multiple choice / select all that apply / etc.
Part 2 must be completed in one 30 minute (max) sitting. No pausing allowed. It will automatically time you out after 30 minutes. Part 2 is a free response question where students will have to explain their process and thinking.
