The Orchard Hills Robotics program began "unofficially" in the 2014-2015 season with the Skyrise game. In 2015-2016 Coach Lund took over the program and the "official" seasons began and the "ROBOHAWKS" came to be! In the first official season 20 students (with only 2 girls!) joined an after school club and competed only locally in our Tustin Unified district tournaments. The program has grown each year and continues to become a present force in the VEX robotics world! We have grown to over 65 students and 12 VEX IQ and VRC teams. We have competed all over California and the World and can't wait to see how the Robohawks Program continues to grow!
COACH LUND
Megan Lund has been coaching robotics for the past 6 years and loves all aspects of robotics and teamwork. "It has been incredible to see the program grow and grow and grow over the years and I love being a little piece of the big picture."
Mrs. Lund has been teaching for 8 years, the past 6 at Orchard Hills. She teaches PLTW Gateway to technology, coding on the elective wheel, and 2 sections of competitive robotics.
The 2020-2021 season brings 7 new teams to the Robohawks family! The demand for more robotics options has become so great at Orchard Hills and these new teams are eager to grow their robotics season. 35 students participate in our 6th period elective class for VEX IQ competition robotics. We can't wait to RISE ABOVE the competition!
Our program is home to 5 highly competitive VRC teams with a commitment to being the best they can be. Our teams have seen immense growth and learning over the past 6 seasons. 30 students participate in our 7th period elective class for VRC. We can't wait to see all of the changes that come with this season of CHANGE UP!
