DEMERITS

Reminder: you need fewer than 5 demerits to be eligible to attend dances and senior munches! 

How many demerits do you have?

• Log in to your student Aeries account

  • Select “guidance”

  • Select “demerits” - the number listed in demerits is the number of detention hours owed.  For example: “3.5” would mean 3 ½ hours of detention owed.

How do I clear my demerits?

• Before School Detention (late start Wednesdays)

  • 7:30am

  • Meet EJ to arrange a campus beautification assignment (clears 10 demerits)

• During Lunch (Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri)

  • Mon/Tues/No Late Start Wed/Thurs/Fri - 11:41-11:56am

  • NOTE: On Wednesdays, some times are subject to change depending on the schedule. Detentions will begin immediately at the start of every lunch period.

  • In room 301 (clears 3 demerits)

• Campus Beautification (Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri)

  • Mon-Fri at 11:45am or Wed at 12:20pm

  • Meet a campus supervisor at the podium near the front office. (clears 10 demerits)

• Online

  • While some online courses take 1 hour to complete and some take several hours, ALL online Everfi courses will clear 5 demerits.  

• Other ways?  

  • Volunteering in the community with a 501 (c) 3 charity!  This requires prior approval from the discipline office, see Mrs. Bonilla for more information.

Notes:  Students must show ID to enter detention and sign in on the sheet • On time, no exceptions • Students must be engaged in academic work while using the laptops • No cell phones, no earphones, no hoods • No talking, no sleeping, no exceptions • Students are subject to removal from any detention session for any disruptive or non-compliant behavior • Students will not earn partial hours for needing to be removed early or leaving early.
