Dane Fader is the founder of GreenerBins Composting Company, a closed-loop regenerative farm in Essex Country, Ontario. He is the Chair of the Windsor-Essex Food Policy Council, Coordinator of the Windsor-Essex Climate Action Network, and has been the recipient of the “Pat on the Back” Award from the Windsor-Essex County Environment Committee (WECEC). The aim of Dane’s work is to mitigate climate change while strengthening the local food system.

Alley L. Biniarz is a first-generation Polish-Canadian writer with an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of King’s College. She uses her creative voice to bring awareness to environmental and feminist causes. Alley is also the founder of Grown Lady Garments: a curated collection of sustainable and ethically made clothing for the women of Windsor. Her goal is to connect communities and to help give a voice to the voiceless.

Carved into a hillside deep in Ecuador’s Amazon rainforest is the Minga Lodge, a place where Sandra Morocho is often hard at work. For five years, she’s led jungle hikes with Me to We. Sandra is one of the first women to hold this adventurous position in the Amazon. She passionately uses tourism to spread her message of hope with the goal of enticing others to join her quest for sustainable development.

Sandra dreams of a society that lives in harmony with nature. She believes that if you get to meet and truly know nature you will fall in love with it. Once you create a space in your heart for nature, Sandra says that is when you start taking care of it. That is why she became a jungle guide and is so excited to share her passion for all living things here in Canada.

Kelvin Bokai Doe (also known as DJ Focus) is the founder of the Kelvin Doe Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with strategic partners to provide creative spaces to nurture communities, ignite a culture of innovation, and inspire civic engagement.

Through various programs, Kelvin engages with educators, the private sector, and government leaders; leading global visionaries, and NGOs to mobilize and provide resources, makerspaces, mentorship, and tools to advance the impact of experimental and hands-on learning programs in Africa. His recent activity includes crowdfunding to set up a makerspace in the Dworzark community in Sierra Leone.

Kelvin has won several international awards on innovation, including a presidential Gold Medal, and he is also the youngest person to participate in the "Visiting Practitioner's Program" at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Kelvin is a frequent speaker at sci/tech/art and youth empowerment conference and serves on the Honorary and Advisory Board of Emergency USA, an organization with a mission to provide free medical and surgical care to victims of war and poverty. Dance Barre CREW is a performance group consisting of jazz, hip hop, and lyrical dancers ages 8-18. These dancers spend each year improving upon their dance foundation and preparing for exciting performance and competition opportunities throughout Windsor-Essex. Lyrical CREW performers Avery Baker, Jaidyn Bentley, Keegan Burgess, Liz Case, Sylvia Gavric, Mikayla King, Kate Salmon, and Ava Varsava have been training in styles such as Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Lyrical since they were very young. Between their roles as teachers, assistant teachers, students, and CREW members, these dancers spend countless hours at Dance Barre each week perfecting their craft and doing what they love. Dance Barre is proud to have them as members and leaders of the Dance Barre CREW, and each of these dancers is very excited to be a part of WE Day X Windsor.

Local Spotlight: Danielle Chevalier, female entrepreneur, owner of AXFIT and Urban Surf will be doing an on spot workout with our audience.

Abigail is a Grade 10 student at Cardinal Carter Catholic Secondary School. She is a local vocalist who has a passion for singing music theatre, classical and opera. She has been involved locally with a variety of theatre productions such as Little Tomato Children's Theatre, Migration Hall Productions and Abridged Opera. She is also involved with Music Moves Kids, The Erin Armstrong Studio, Carter Crescendos and often performs with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. Her most recent projects include Frozen Jr. where she is cast as Anna and she is also rehearsing for an opera entitled, “L’enfant.” She has won many awards during Kiwanis competitions and recently represented Windsor-Essex provincially. She would like to encourage each one of you to find your passion and to follow your dreams on a journey to perfect uniqueness.

Jordan Youssef is a Grade 12 student at Cardinal Carter highschool. He is relatively new to performing for large crowds but has truly found a love for the stage. He is an active member of Carter Crescendos and has also been involved Theatre One and Little Tomato Children’s Theatre. Most recently, he has been cast as Hans in the production of Frozen Junior which opens at the end of April. Jordan would like to encourage everyone to follow their dreams and not be afraid of failure. Life’s too short to not take chances.

Emma McDonald is a grade 11 student at Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts. She has earned many vocal awards and scholastic awards. Last summer she was accepted with a scholarship to McGill University's Summer Academy for Neurosciences. Last month she was awarded the GECDSB Student of the Month. She is currently in rehearsals for her 40th musical theatre production, Frozen, in which she will perform the role of Elsa. Emma plans to continue singing and performing along with her ultimate goal is to become a medical practitioner. She is honoured to have the opportunity to perform in today's WE DAY event!

When Dillon was in high school, he consistently followed the status quo. Once he was able to step outside of his box and just be himself, his life changed rapidly. At the young age of 17, he co-founded the social enterprise PickWaste. The venture had a huge impact on the environment and was featured all over national news. He was featured on one of the Top 100 podcasts in the world – Humans 2.0 and has worked with brands such as A&W.

He is now an Analyst at Deloitte Canada, an alumni of the Top 35 Under 35 Global Changemakers, as well as a TEDx and youth speaker. Dillon has shared his message with thousands of students across Canada and has recently signed with Canada’s largest youth speakers bureau – CYSB in an attempt to spread his message even further.
