For all Classes
Welcome to my classroom at Magic Valley High School! You will be studying math, with my assistance to make sure you work quickly enough to complete required units to earn the credit.
Class Attendance
As stated in your handbook.
Tardiness
Class begins at 8:15 and 11:40 SHARP. All students will be required to report to class with paper, pencil, pen, and ready to work. Students will be referred to the principal after the 4th tardy. On the 5th tardy, the student will be sent home by the classroom teacher with time lost (minimum of 2.5 hours). If the time missed puts the student over 5.5 hours, the student will be dropped from the block.
10 minutes+ equals a one-half hour absence and a tardy will be assessed to the student.
30 minutes+ equals a one hour absence will be assessed to the student.
To qualify for any exceptions to the rules, I must be INFORMED by start of day!
Tardies returning from breaks are also counted and will not be tolerated.
Assignments
Students will spend about 2.5 hours each day working on the math curriculum.
AM Classes: There will also be approximately 30 minutes dedicated three times a week to Achieve. Morning math will be completed daily.
PM Classes: There will not be any Achieve or Morning Math required for the afternoon classes.
Break times
Out of class needs should be taken care of while on breaks/lunch. The morning and afternoon break times are only 5 minutes long. Students are to use the restroom during break/lunch times only. Please bring a note from a medical physician if you need more frequent trips to the restroom.
For emergencies, students will be given six excused out of class passes to be used as needed throughout the combined block.
