Florence: Experiment with creating your own small fresco. Each traveler will try out the various stages of the process on a natural terracotta base, from laying the plaster, preparing the paints and coloring in. At the end of the activity participants will be able to take the fresco they have made away with them.
Paris: Inspire your inner artist with a drawing or painting activity in the “City of Art.” After a lesson on perspective, composition, measuring and drawing, create your own Parisian masterpiece that you can bring home as a personalized souvenir.
The Adopt-an-Artist fundraiser will guarantee that each student going has a chance to participate in these experiences, open their worldview, and engage in hands on art experiences . By donating, you are helping to create life-changing memories that plant the seeds for our students to build connections and friendships across the globe through the powerful connection of the Visual Arts.

I've been creating art seriously for about 6 years. It took a long time to improve, and I am still improving. My favorite medium now would be gouache. I like the way you can use it with the opacity of acrylic paint while being able to manipulate it like watercolor. I would like to pursue art as a career and go to college for it. This summer I will be taking college credit while taking painting classes in Italy and France! I ranked 4th place in the Fort Worth Stock Show. The last 2 years I have had my artwork featured in the Fort Worth Cowgirl Museum. I received a perfect 4 in VASE, and was one of the top 5% that got to go to State. I have also had my work featured at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden's Orchid Exhibit. This year I am entering the Texas Fish Art Contest and Botanic Garden Butterfly Juried Art Exhibit.
My name is Hudson Finley. I have been taking art classes since my freshman year, and am taking advanced painting, sculpture, and digital art this year. I’ve done a lot of work digitally, but I also use traditional mediums such as ink and watercolor. I have won first prize in the digital category in the Fort Worth Sister Cities Young Artists and Authors Showcase in 2022, and I have also won second prize in the digital category at the same show in 2023. I also had one of my art pieces accepted into the Fort Worth Mayor's Art Show in 2022.
Ella Is a member of out National Art Honor Society. Last year, she earned a perfect score In Junior VASE and Is excited to compete this year, on a High School level. Ella has had her work featured In the FWAFA Gallery for International Dot Day and Winter In Paris.
Devin M Mogk specializes in portrait making with oil-based paint while exploring other mediums. She is enrolled in a number of visual arts classes including Advanced painting & Sculpture and is currently working on her portfolio. Devin is also an active member in the National Art Honor Society. At FWAFA's 2023 annual Gala fundraiser she live painted for an audience and finished a 3'x4' acrylic piece in 2 hours. Devin is working towards raising money for a trip to Italy and France in order to experience Neoclassicism and further cultivate her skills.
This year Isabella is taking AP portfolio, Painting, and Sculpture. She loves acrylic paint and oil pastels. She has earned perfect scores at VASE which lead her to became a two time State VASE qualifier! She will be entering two pieces Into VASE this year. She has also had her works featured In the Fort Worth Stock Show, FWAFA Gallery exhibits, and the Juried Art Show. Isabella Is also a member of our National Art Honor Society, where she upholds and exceptional GPA and has served countless hours In community service.
Oakley Periman, Is the the Parliamentarian for our National Art Honor Society. Two-time qualifier for state VASE art competition. Last year, my art work was selected to help pass the Crown Act. Well versed in graphite and colored pencil portraiture, currently expanding into painting. "You Must Remain Separate" is my first installment of my current portfolio, in which I am exploring the struggles of growing up as a young artist through 2d art. While working on this piece I have learned two things: 1), I have fallen unabashedly in love with oil paint, and 2), oil paint is very expensive! Any donation would be incredibly helpful in supporting me through my artistic projects this year, AS WELL as help send me on my trip to Italy and France with FWAFA this summer. I am also open to commissions! Come and talk to me if you are interested.
Marcos will be competing In VASE for his second year! Marcos has had his work featured In the FWAFA Gallery for International Dot Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and the Juried Art Show. He Is taking Sculpture, Photography, and when he's not at school he trains as a boxer! We will be safe traveling with him on our team.
Last year Jimmy placed In our Juried Art Expo! He has also received perfect scores In VASE. Jimmy has also been apart of our National Art Honor Society, upholding a spectacular GPA and Invested countless hours In community service.
My name is Samuel Corkran. I just spent two and a half years going to the neurologist to have my eyes and brain work together for full sight. I feel like the entire world has changed for me. I am able to see, it can be overwhelming trying to decide what information is important and what I need to ignore. My mom is an art teacher, so I am learning all about art from her. As far as art styles, mediums, and goals. I am taking it all in; so that I can be as excited as my mom is about teaching me art. Now that I can see, I want to experience my parents love for the arts. Everything that I sell helps me to go to Italy and France to learn first hand all about the Fine Arts.
Since we will be taking painting classes, we would like for each student to have their own travel watercolor set and journal! They will use these throughout the trip to artistically document their experiences. Click the link for our amazon wishlist!
