December 18                 First day for filing application for a place on the ballot for Special Election. (After the Special City Council meeting at 9:00 a.m.)

December 25 -26          City Hall will be closed in observance of the Holidays.


December 27             Last day for filing application for a place on the ballot for Special Election.  COMPLETED APPLICATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5:00 P.M.

December 28        Drawing Order for a place on the ballot at 4601 Padre Blvd at 10:00 a.m.

 

January 4                 Last day to submit a Voter Registration Application in order to register to vote in the February 3rd Election (send to Cameron County Voter         Registrar’s office)

 

January 12 Testing of the tabulating and marking equipment on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 5:30 p.m at the Cameron County Central Jury Room in the Judicial Building, 974 E. Harrison, Brownsville, Texas. View notice here. 

 

January 23               Last day to receive applications in person for early voting by mail; the application must be received 5:00 p.m.

January 30              Last day of Regular Early Voting by Personal Appearance.

 

February 3               ELECTION DAY – 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Community Center, 4501 Padre Boulevard.

 

February 3           Last day to receive ballot by mail. (Saturday, February 3, 2024 (Election Day) at 7:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is NOT postmarked, OR         Monday, February 5, 2024 (next business day after Election Day) at 5:00 p.m. if the carrier envelope is postmarked by 7:00 p.m. at the                               location of the election on Election Day (unless overseas or military voter deadlines apply)

 

PENDING       Period for Official Canvass of Election Returns. 

 

PENDING              Possible date for Early Voting Ballot Board to convene, if necessary, to count Provisional Ballots and/or ballots received from outside the                                              United States.

 

PENDING         Possible date to call Special City Council meeting where Canvass of Election Returns will be conducted if there were provisional votes,         otherwise Special City Council Meeting can be called between (pending).
