Open in Kami

Open Google Classroom, go to the Classwork tab and click Create.

You should now see a new menu item called Kami assignment.

Choose your assignment

Go to your Google Classroom and chose your assignment to work on under Stream or Classwork.

Open the assignment

At the top right of the screen you will see Your Work

Your assignments will have a title beginning with your name

Click to open - and you will see a preview image like this

Make sure you open with Kami

Look at the top right side of the screen and there will be a blue Open with Kami button. Click on this button - NOT open with Google Docs!

Boring stuff you just have to do

The first time you use Kami, you have to give it permission to work with Google Classroom. You should only have to do this once. It is much easier the second time.

Now click on Authorise Google Drive.

Select your account

Click on your name

Scroll down

Find the Allow button

Trust Kami

Click the Allow button

And again..

This is to give permission to Classroom to accept your homework done in Kami

Choose your account

Select your name

And finally click Allow

Now we are done

Run OCR

You might see this when you open some PDF worksheets. If you Run OCR it helps Kami understand the writing in case you want the program to read out the text for you.

You don't have to do this, so it is OK to click No Thanks if you prefer.

You can now see your worksheet. At the left side there are lots of tools in a black bar that let you write directly on the sheet. When you are finished, you send the work back to your teacher using the blue buttons at the top of the screen.
