Using Artificial Intelligence

We think you all need to be aware of artificial intelligence

We know you will all be discovering these tools and it is important that you know how to use these ethically. We've published guidance for you as students, developed with the Students Association, and we've given guidance to the teaching staff, so they encourage you to make the most of AI tools in an ethical way.  You will find more information on City Life, the student intranet, when you arrive as a learner. 

Remember AI will support your studies, but you must use it ethically.  

There are some useful links in the presentation below to help you start the process of understanding what artificial intelligence can do for you as a student.

At City of Glasgow College, you can access Cite Them Right to support you in referencing your use of the appropriate AI tool. 

Key Points:

• Learn how to use the relevant AI tools to support your learning.

• Never try to pass off work done by AI as your own work.

• If you use AI refer to guidance on how to cite and give attribution and recognition for any support you get from an AI tool.

• Access Cite Them Right to support your referencing.

• Remember Turnitin, our system for similarity detection scans all of your submissions. Make sure you always submit your own work.
