The languages we use are at the core of our identity and culture.

What do we know about languages and why should we care about languages?

This website aims to celebrate language diversity in Scotland and to help offer an inclusive welcome for everyone, no matter what their first language is.

In the following pages, you can access information about three of Scotland's languages: British Sign Language, Scottish Gaelic and Scots. You will find links for you to use to learn about these languages and why they are important to the country.
