Language Acquisition 1

Grades 6 – 8: Semester

This course introduces students to the basics of 3 common languages, emphasizing the development of basic communication skills while researching and integrating cultural understanding and appreciation. Students learn common phrases and expressions, fostering both linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness.  Students will explore the cultural aspects of each language, including music, food, festivals, and other cultural elements.

Spanish 1 Honors

Grades 8: Year

High School Credit: 1

Spanish 1 introduces students to the target language and its culture. The student will develop communicative skills in all 3 modes of communication and cross-cultural understanding. Emphasis is placed on proficient communication in the language. An introduction to reading and writing is also included as well as culture, connections, comparisons, and communities.
