Meet Mr. Hixson

Mr. Hixson will be starting the his fifth year as the Los Alisos Drama teacher in the 2017-2018 school year. He grew up in Saddleback Valley Unified School District, attending Mission Viejo High School where he was the drama president, a CAPPIE and MACY award winning performer, and an IB Drama student. He attended University of Arizona's School of Theatre Arts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater. It was during college that Mr. Hixson earned his EMC card while understudying at Arizona Theater Company's production of [title of show]. Following graduation, Mr. Hixson spent some time in New York City auditioning and performing as a "professional actor". He moved back to California in 2011 and received his Single Subject Teaching Credential in English from Concordia University. He is also an involved teacher leader with The California Arts Project and serves as a member of the Arts Leadership Committee for Saddleback Valley Unified School District. Mr. Hixson's wife is a math teacher in Capistrano Unified School District and the two of them have one son. Mr. Hixson is also looking forward to completing his Master's this year in Curriculum Design and Instruction.
