The AP Capstone Program
at
El Toro High School

AP Capstone is an innovative program that allows students to engage in rigorous college-level study of the critical skills necessary for success in college. The program of study includes a two-course Capstone sequence: AP Seminar and AP Research and four additional AP content courses taken throughout grades 9-12.

At El Toro High School, Capstone students challenge themselves academically, by developing a critical questioning approach to information, investigating issues from multiple perspectives with an interdisciplinary focus, and communicating and defending evidence-based arguments. Capstone students will foster the essential skills needed to achieve success in Advanced Placement courses, and establish the academic foundation necessary to move on to either a two or four-year university program after graduation.
