Welcome to Visual Art at FMS! 

I am SO excited to see what you will CREATE in our Art Studio here at FMS!!!  This is my fourth year in the art studio, and I can't wait to spend it with you in one of our many classes we offer!  Throughout the year we will use a variety of media, based upon the class you are in!  It could be colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic paint, tempera paint, charcoal, clay (either kiln fired or air dry), and a variety of media for sculpting!

For class supplies for all art classes, you will need the following:

• a sketch book (roughly 9" x 11" size, either sketch or mixed media paper is fine!)

• a folder with 3-prongs (either paper or plastic, color is up to you)

• pencils

• iPad/AR books/headphones (if you want to listen to music while you create)

One of the questions I get asked most often is what my favorite way to create is.  So far, watercolor always comes out on top!  One of my very favorite artist quotes is "Creativity takes courage", by Henri Matisse. I 100% agree with that!  Sometimes our fear of our art looking 'perfect' holds us back from even starting at all!  No worries about that in ANY of my classes! Our main goals are to TRY, LISTEN, WORK, and FINISH, and I promise you, you will be successful!  I can't wait to see what you create!
