This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards

and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further in the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources career

cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning, higher-order reasoning and problem-

solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects

of the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources career cluster. The content includes, but is not limited to, instruction that prepares

individuals to apply the economic and business principles involved in the organization, operation and management of farms and

agricultural business. Subject matter includes finance, laws, labor, machinery, facilities, and marketing, as well as leadership,

Agriculture Biotechnology

Throughout the program, students learn about how the agriculture industry works, and how it affects all of us every day. Students

plant gardens, conduct research experiments, work with animals, extract plant DNA, and explore how agriculture interacts with the

environment. Students learn important skills in the biotechnology laboratory. They genetically enhance bacteria to glow in the dark.

They use specialized equipment found in real labs. They learn how to purify proteins and how to make DNA fingerprints. Biotech

students focus on techniques and practices important to the plant industry. They explore tissue culture, experimental design, DNA

karyotyping, genetically modified foods, aquaculture and hydroponics.

Carpentry/Building Construction Technology 

This program offers students practical, hands-on experience in rough and finish carpentry and construction project management. Partnering

with a wide range of business partners, students use an engaging curriculum from NCCER (National Center for Construction Education &

Research). Students are prepared to earn a national industry certification in Carpentry Level 1 from NCCER which may provide second year

placement in the NEFBA (Northeast Florida Builders Association) apprenticeship program after graduation.

The HVAC program offers students practical, hands-on experiences by designing, testing, and repairing heating, ventilation,

air-conditioning, and cooling (HVAC) systems. An engaging curriculum from National Center for Construction Education and

Research (NCCER) prepares students for valuable industry certifications recognized by Northeast Florida Builders Association

(NEFBA).

Carpentry/Building Construction Management

This program offers students practical, hands-on experiences in the areas of carpentry, masonry, and construction project

management. An engaging curriculum from National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) prepares students

Interested in an “electrifying” career? This program offers students practical, hands-on experiences for careers in electricity. Students

will learn direct-current electrical-circuit skills and basic electricity and electrical codes while producing hands-on projects. Partnering

with NEFBA (Northeast FL Builders Association) apprenticeship programs, students will use an engaging curriculum from NCCER while

preparing to earn national industry certifications. These certifications may provide second year placement in the NEFBA apprenticeship

program after graduation.

Electrical Wiring Pre-Apprenticeship Program - Senior Year Only!

How would you like to complete high school ready to start a career where you could make $29.11 an hour? The Pre-Apprenticeship

Program sponsored by the Electrical Training Alliance of Jacksonville can get you started on the pathway to a rewarding career in the

electrical field. High School Pre-Apprentices will learn how to bend conduit, pull wire, basic electrical circuitry, electrical building codes,

as well as DC and AC Theory. There is an articulation agreement with FSCJ and Valdosta State University whereby apprenticeship

graduates receive up to 30 hours of college credit towards a degree in Industrial Management. Advanced placement into the

Digital Design

Are you passionate about the world of print & digital design? A career in Graphic Design can range from creating promotional posters and

merchandise, to developing websites and animations, all across a wide range of professional industries. The Digital Design program allows

students to complete coursework in principles of design, layout, editing, and publishing digital content. In this program, students will

work toward the Adobe Certified Professional in Visual Design industry certification by becoming proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator.

Students in this program will develop a Design Portfolio to increase marketability to prospective colleges and employers.

Ever thought about being a professional photographer? Weddings, Events, Sports, Portraits or Advertising? This might be the

program for you. Learn everything you need to know about digital photography. From developing and creating to editing

photography projects, students will learn many skills. Students will take a look at the photography industry and learn how to

plan, manage and finance photo shoots. Students have many opportunities to practice their skills with various photo assignments

around campus and may also earn an industry certification in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

This program is designed to move students through the traditional 2-D and into 3-D animation techniques and gaming concepts into

the designing, programming, and simulation for the web and handheld devices. Students will have the opportunity to earn industry

certifications in Adobe Premiere and Animate.

Television Production

Students will experience what it means to develop, film, edit, and participate in each step of the video production process. Using the

latest software and equipment, students will work in groups to create short film projects across all genres, working both behind and

in front of the camera. Along with projects, TV Production students will be involved in the school news, filming events, competing in

contests, and promoting the school and its programs. Throughout the course, students will learn the skills necessary to earn Adobe

Professional Certifications in Premiere Pro and After Effects.

The pathway of Business Management and Analysis is for students interested in careers in business management, human resources, finance,

marketing, and customer service. Through a variety of hands-on activities, field trips, and guest speakers, students will have opportunities

to apply learning to real life scenarios and build relationships with local business partners. Students will have an opportunity to apply for an

internship with VyStar Credit Union and run the onsite VyStar Credit Union Branch as part of the program curriculum.

Early Childhood Education and Teaching

The early childhood education program is designed for students interested in exploring education as a possible career choice

and/or students planning to pursue a degree in education and have a sincere desire to teach and care for young children. With

an on-site preschool educational center, students get hands-on, real-world experiences in a variety of settings related to early

childhood development and education. Students will complete the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Introductory Child

Care Training coursework. Students that successfully complete this four-year program will earn the ability to apply for the Early

Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC) and the Child Development Associate (CDA) industry certifications.

Academy of Teaching and Learning

This early childhood education program is designed for students interested in exploring education as a possible career choice and/or

students planning to pursue a degree in education and have a sincere desire to teach and care for young children. It prepares students

for an entry-level position in child care industry or to pursue a college degree in early childhood education or elementary education.

Students observe and interact in a variety of settings including the RHS “Little Paws” on-site childcare center. Eligible students

enrolled in the program can take dual enrollment classes. Students will complete the Department of Children and Families (DCF)

Introductory Child Care Training coursework. Students that successfully complete this four-year program will earn the ability to apply

for the Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC) and the Child Development Associate (CDA) industry certifications.

Aerospace 

This is an exciting program that creates a life-long passion for aviation by utilizing classroom instruction, lab practicums, industry

partners, technical experts, and the local business community to provide the fundamental knowledge base, functional skill sets, and

requisite technical/practical experiences required for success in post-high school ventures in the aerospace field. During junior and

senior years, most students can choose from a ‘specialty track’ that provides emphasis in the areas of air traffic control, general

aviation maintenance, and pilot ground school. Additionally, students can earn college credit through Dual Enrollment courses offered

in partnership with our college affiliates.

Engineering

This program is for students who are interested in Engineering. The program prepares students to become qualified professionals and

work closely with mentors in the workforce. Students will develop problem solving skills in planning, management, and labor. These

courses introduce students to the scope, rigor and discipline of an engineering/engineer technology program prior to entering college

or the workplace. Industry certifications in Autodesk Revit. On-campus dual enrollment opportunities are available.

Robotics

The purpose of this program is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the study of

the principles and applications of robotics engineering and its effect upon our lives and the choosing of an occupation. The content and

activities will also include the study of entrepreneurship, safety, and leadership skills. This program focuses on transferable skills and

stresses understanding and demonstration of the science and mathematics knowledge, technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes and systems related to robotics.

Academy of Medical Science

The Academy of Medical Science provides an innovative, integrated learning environment intended to prepare students with the

medical skills and training required to succeed in postsecondary healthcare career education and/or to successfully progress into

the healthcare workforce. This comprehensive program combines rigorous academic curriculum with various clinical experiences.

Student clinical rotations may be conducted at area hospitals and healthcare facilities. Clinical clearance, including background

check and drug screening are required prior to entering the clinical setting. Industry Certifications: Electrocardiogram Technician

(EKG), Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), depending on the path.

Health Sciences

The goal of this program is to assist students that are interested in the healthcare field. The programs in this pathway help students have a

better understanding of all health-related occupations and services. A student in this program through their senior year, will be eligible to

participate in clinicals at area hospitals and healthcare facilities. In their senior year, a student may also be eligible to sit for the Certified

Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam. They will also receive CPR and First Aid certifications. This program prepares you for employment and/or

advanced college training in the healthcare field.

Orange Park High School

Emergency Medical Responder

This program prepares individuals to provide initial care to sick or injured people or as ambulance personnel. An Emergency Medical

Responder may use this training for employment. The Emergency Medical Responder is the first to arrive at the scene of an injury but does

not have the primary responsibility for treating and transport in the injured person(s). Emergency Medical Responders may include fire

service, lifeguard, first services or basic life support non-licensed personnel who act as part of an organized emergency medical services

team. The seniors may complete clinical hours with the Clay County Fire and Rescue.

Restaurants, hotels, resorts, cruise ships, wedding & event planning, does this sound like something you’d like to do for your career? If so, this

is the program for you. This course gives you hands-on experience in the field of Hospitality and Tourism. Students in this course plan a mock

wedding in the spring, and help with events in Clay County and in northeast Florida. Understanding the behind the scenes workings of this

exciting industry will better prepare students for a career that is vital to Florida’s economy. Students have the opportunity to work towards

the Social Media Strategist industry certification.

get the life skills you need to gain employment in this growing field.

As our world becomes increasingly dependent on technology, cybersecurity is a topic of growing importance. It is crucial that

companies and individuals take precautions to protect themselves from the growing threat of cyber-attacks. This course prepares

students with crucial skills to be responsible citizens in a digital future. Students will learn networking fundamentals, software security,

and basics of cryptography.

Computer Systems and Information Technology

The CSIT program offers coursework in computer hardware, software, network configuration, design, administration, security, and programming. Students in the Academy of Criminal Justice have the opportunity to pursue their interest in the fields of law enforcement, 911 dispatch telecommunications, private security guard, lawyer, criminal profiler, and legal professional. The Academy combines a college preparatory curriculum with a career theme, enabling students to see relationships among academic subjects and their application to a broad field of work. It is also the goal to incorporate partnerships with employers, the community, and local colleges in order to bring resources from outside the high school to provide students with unique learning opportunities including internships that help improve student motivation and achievement. This program prepares students for a career in firefighting. Students will receive an orientation to the fire service, fire alarms and

communication, vehicles, apparatus, and employability skills. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with the Clay

County Fire and Rescue. Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to sit for the Firefighter 1 certification.

Welding

This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in the welding industry.

This course is for the serious and motivated individual. Many companies are looking to hire welding students. Welding students

will receive hands-on experience through classroom instruction in the welding shop and will work toward earning their American

Welding Society (AWS) Certification.

This program introduces students to the concept of entrepreneurship and provides students with the skills needed to realistically

mechanical skills, trim-hardware maintenance, glass servicing, and other miscellaneous repairs, and safe, efficient work practices.
