“Universal Design for Learning is a flexible approach to designing learning experiences so that all students have full and equal opportunities to learn. Grounded in brain-based research on the diverse ways people learn, UDL offers a practical framework for teachers to support all students. The CCSS can be considered the ‘what’ in education - the goals and destination that we expect our students to reach. Universal Design for Learning can be considered the ‘how’  in education. The UDL framework offers educators an approach to designing flexible learning experiences so students have multiple options to perceive, understand, engage and show what they know as they  strive to reach their educational goals and take up the journey of becoming life-long learners”.
