NAPS 3 Dental Clinic Report
On Friday April 14, 2023. I, Christopher Norris, along with my cousin, Adam Humphrey, and my grandparents, Pastor and Mrs. Auldwin Humphrey, arrived on the NAPS campus. NAPS is located in the Black Belt of Alabama. We came as volunteers to assist NAPS with a weekend initiative to share the love of Jesus with the people of the Black Belt. Specifically many people in the Black Belt suffer from poor dental hygiene, decaying teeth, and other medical ailments.
Because of the poverty level of this area, these same persons do not have the insurance or income to get the proper dental and medical help. They live in pain, inability to eat well, and risk of dangerous infections. NAPS has partnered with Christian Dentists and Physicians to perform FREE services in these areas. This method is used as a tool to foster relationships with the people of the black belt as a means to introduce them to Christ or to help their bond with Christ to flourish. A facility is rented out along with the mobile dental clinic bus in strategic areas of the black belt every quarter. Because there is a vigorous wait time at the dental drive, this time is filled with segments by volunteers to incorporate a rich spiritual element into the wait time. During that time spiritual concepts and the 8 laws of health are presented as endorsed by Ellen G. White and the SDA Church. I had the privilege of preaching during these segments and my cousin, Adam, was able to use his talents of rapping. This was done in addition to our assignments of helping to tour guide patients through the various waiting areas from triage to fulfillment of service. After people have been served, a team of volunteers prays with the patients and solicits their needs including spiritual needs. In summary here are the facts for the dental drive I was a part of.
Location: Eutaw, AL
Sponsor: National Association for the Prevention of Starvation (NAPS)
Spiritual Activities: Health Seminars, Singing, Preaching, Praying, Listening, Hugging, Testifying, Sharing, appeal’s to draw closer to Christ through Bible study sign up, Prophecy sign up, etc...
Dental Activities: extractions, oral surgeries, dental cleanings
Medical Activities: Podiatry care
Conclusion: 39 persons signed up for Bible Study and Prophecy studies. Over 120 persons were served between Friday - Sunday of April 14 to 16, 2023.
Yours Truly,
Christopher Norris

Mia Bellamy's Accreditation speech
Good Morning Accreditation Board!
Good morning administration of Oakwood Adventist Academy!
And good morning to Jesus Christ, our Lord, who makes all things possible!
I want to thank principal Dent, for inviting me to share a word from the Lord during such a valuable moment in time for the school. It is my understanding that this process takes place every five or so years. It is a process that is in place to make sure that our institution operates at optimal standards.
As a student who has spent the majority of her education underneath the watchful care of Oakwood Adventist Academy, I can assure you that our institution works feverishly at making sure that we are first class.
Ellen G white states,
“Higher than the highest human thought can reach is gods ideal for his children. Godliness and God-likeness is the goal to be reached”.
If we are to be like God, perfection and order should be our goal. AMEN? And it is at Oakwood Adventist Academy. I wanna direct our focus to 1 Peter 2:9 The word of God states;
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; who sing the praises of HIM who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light”.
What is accreditation?
According to Webster’s dictionary accreditation is “the process of recognizing an educational institution as maintaining standards that qualify the graduates for admission to higher or more specialized institutions or for professional practice”
“To qualify someone with a stamp of approval”.
You, illustrious accreditation team, have come to this institution, in Huntsville Alabama, on May 2nd, to assess the efforts and strides that have been made by OAA to qualify for excellence! But I submit to you today that there is an even higher accreditation board, and they go by the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Daily, they watch how we maneuver through life. They are able to see if we are truly walking in their likeness. They are able to watch when we think nobody is looking at us. The heavenly accreditation board sees how we treat fellow human beings, and most of all how we treat our family behind closed doors.
They are able to see, if we actually clean our room or if we shove the clothes under the bed or into drawers to maintain the presence of cleanliness, but are really filthy in areas where we think no one will see.
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost can see if a teacher goes the extra mile to make sure that students understand the information, or if they just show up to receive a check.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit sit around and watch to see if students have actually studied, or are they finding slick ways to cheat on a peers paper.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit see if we are we backbiting and gossiping in the break room…or are we lifting each other and trying to find a way to be a better team member.
They watch to see if we’re finding a way to slide by as we return our taxes. And if we are trying to justify not returning a faithful tithe and offering when God only ask for 10% of our income. Not because HE needs it. But because he wants to see if we will remember where our source of blessings come from..
James 1:17 states
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does NOT change like shifting shadows”.
Notice the text states,
"...that He doesn’t “change like shifting shadows”.
Maybe that’s because he wants to show us that true character and the standard of spiritual accreditation is consistent obedience to HIM.
THAT is spiritual accreditation.
We need to STOP changing like shifting shadows, to try and fit in with the popular crowd.
We need to stop changing like shifting shadows because it’s comfortable to NOT rock the boat.
We need to call mediocrity and issues by their rightful name.
We need to stop changing like shifting shadows, because we know that there is a standard that needs to be upheld in these last and evil days, as the love of man is waxing cold.
Ooohhh!
To be accredited on this earth is an honor and a privilege. But to be accredited by the heavenly father is the goal to be reached.
Accreditation board, I assure you today that you are walking through the hallways of an institution that believes in developing, nurturing, and affirming, it’s young people through Jesus Christ.
By the grace of God, I believe that Oakwood Adventist Academy is dignified and qualified for you to VERIFY this institution as one who follows the standards of the state, the country, and the world in academic excellence.
This is because we believe that we are a chosen generation…NOT because we are better than others, BUT because we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
We are a royal priesthood…Not because we operate in entitled arrogance, but because we have been washed in his blood, and know that we are heirs of Christ through redemption and faith.
We are a holy nation… because we believe that there is a standard of excellence that God wants us to operate with.
We are a PECULIAR people, because we are unique, bold, and unapologetic about standing OUT for Christ.
We are audible with our praise of him…because unlike man, who will leave you at times when you may be a mess, God is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, who will not allow US to look foolish, and has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light”.
Oakwood Adventist Academy is a beacon of light to our community.
Oakwood Adventist Academy is a lighthouse to the North American division.
Oakwood Adventist Academy the a standard of academic excellence amongst our constituent schools, South central conference, and the general conference of Seventh-day Adventist.
And Oakwood Adventist Academy is a beacon of light to the world in academic excellence.
Accreditation board,
We are qualified
We are dignified
because Jesus is AMPLIFIED at
Oakwood Adventist Academy.

CARLINE PROTOCOL
For the safety of you, your child(ren), the OAA volunteers, safety patrols and staff, please be reminded of the following:
GENERAL RULES:
Children should enter and exit the vehicle from the right side only.
Only allow your child to exit your car on the sidewalk.
Drive slowly while on campus, especially during drop-off/pick-up.
All cars move together "One Band, One Sound" [this is for the safety of your child(ren) + all children of Oakwood Adventist Academy]
MORNING SPECIFIC RULES:
Drop-off begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 7:55 a.m. Students may not enter the building until 7:30 a.m. Oakwood Adventist Academy is not responsible for their safety before that time. Please do not leave them unaccompanied outside of the school building.
Safety patrols are here to assist your children out of the car and to class. If you need to speak to a teacher, please schedule a conference.
If you are not at the drop-off zone in front of the school, your children should not exit.
Children should be ready to exit the vehicle when they arrive at the drop-off zone. Please don’t wait to put sneakers on and collect your school supplies when you pull up to the drop-off zone.
Do not begin to pull away from the car line until all children are safely on the other side of the barrier.
If the 8:00 a.m. bell rings, your child is tardy and you MUST sign them in at the front desk.
AFTERNOON SPECIFIC RULES:
K-8 ||| Pick-up begins at 3:15 p.m. and ends at 3:45 p.m., M-TH AND begins at 2:15 p.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m. on Friday
9-12 ||| Pick-up begins at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m., M-TH AND begins at 2:30 p.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. on Friday
OAA car tags are preferred to be hanging from the rear view mirror. Bare minimum they must be placed on the left hand side of the dashboard.
Students may NOT walk to the parking lot at any time unless accompanied by an OAA staff member.
Please refrain from talking with the teachers during pick-up, as this distracts them from ensuring the safety of all children.
AFTERNOON SPECIFIC PROCESS:
Cars arrive and we group names based on arrival for calling students to line up for dismissal.
Cars make their way to the front of the building (8 cars at a time)
Students are dismissed to their car based on how they were grouped.
Once the sidewalk is clear and all students are loaded, the group at the sidewalk departs so that the next group of 8 cars can arrive to the front of the building.
***Please do NOT drive around pass the old high school building/the Anna Knight building to cut the line. When you cut the line, it prolongs the car line process for everyone as the names and numbers get thrown off.***

Complete uniform attire is required to attend all classes, including physical education classes. The full dress uniform is to be worn on field trips, to school assemblies, and to other designated activities. Students’ uniforms must be clean, neatly pressed and in optimum condition at all times.
Students should assume the full school uniform is required every school day, regardless of the weather, unless there is written notification of a non-uniform day. MASK Protocol reminder
With Covid, RSV and the Flu still on the rise, all students are still REQUIRED to wear masks while at school. Please take the precautionary measures to ensure all students are safe while at school by providing your child with a mask daily.
Our disposable mask supply is depleted. This is a result of too many students reporting to school without a mask and/or students coming to get a new mask during the day.
Thanks so much!
