OAA Mustangs!
As we wrap up the 2025 portion of the 2025-26 school year, we want to simply say thank you. Thank you for your support, your patience, and your belief in the work we are doing together. It has been a season of learning and growth, and we are proud of our students and staff, and even more grateful for the community that surrounds us all.
Together, over these past few months, we have held on to a continued commitment to developing our students academically, spiritually and socially. We have witnessed our scholars rise to challenges, support one another, and strive for excellence in and beyond the classroom.
We are thankful for the partnership of our families, the dedication of our faculty and staff, and the grace of God that continues to guide our school year. We do so encouraged by what has been accomplished and confident in what is yet to come.
It is our prayer that during this Christmas break time is spent with family, loved ones and friends. While you are at it, be sure to enjoy issue 6 of Mustang News!
Blessings,
The OAA Administration
Huntsville, AL – Oakwood Adventist Academy is proud to celebrate a monumental milestone for one of our standout athletes. Senior Bruklyn Dublin has officially reached 1,000 career points on the varsity girls basketball team!
Bruklyn’s achievement is a testament to her dedication, skill, and hard work both on and off the court. Since joining the varsity team, she has consistently demonstrated leadership, sportsmanship, and a passion for the game that inspires her teammates and coaches alike.
“This is such an incredible accomplishment,” said Coach Morton, OAA Athletic Director. “Bruklyn’s work ethic, determination, and love for the game have set her apart. Reaching 1,000 points is not just about scoring, it’s about her commitment to her team and her craft every single day.”
As Bruklyn continues her senior season, we celebrate her historic achievement and look forward to watching her continue to shine. Her dedication and perseverance are an inspiration to all student-athletes at OAA.
Congratulations, Bruklyn, on this well-deserved milestone! We look forward to see what God has next for you both on and off the court.
A few weeks ago, we had the joy of hosting a Tea for K–5 Girls’, where our young ladies were celebrated in a setting that emphasized grace, confidence, and community. Dressed in their tea-time best, the girls gathered for a morning intentionally designed to affirm their identity, nurture self-awareness, and encourage kindness toward themselves and others.
Through guided conversation, shared laughter, and simple yet meaningful moments, students were reminded that who they are and who they are becoming matters. The tea provided a gentle space to talk about character, respect, and the importance of carrying oneself with confidence rooted in faith. Most importantly, our girls were encouraged to understand that their value comes from God and that they are wonderfully made with purpose.
This special gathering reflects Oakwood Adventist Academy’s commitment to developing the whole child, mind, body, and spirit. We are grateful for the opportunity to create moments as these that support in planting seeds of confidence, sisterhood, and faith in our young scholars.

Recently, Oakwood Adventist Academy students had the opportunity to welcome back one of our PE teacher, Mrs. Taylor. Joined by Mrs. Ahiatsi, Business Manager, and Mrs. Dent, Principal, students presented Mrs. Taylor with a special welcome-back canvas as a symbol of appreciation, encouragement, and how deeply she was missed during her time away.
From elementary through high school, students and staff alike expressed their joy in having Mrs. Taylor back on campus. Her presence, energy, and dedication leave an impact on OAA. The outpouring of love served as a reminder of the strong relationships that make OAA such a special place.
Moments such as these reflect the care, compassion, and sense of family that define Oakwood Adventist Academy. We are grateful to have Mrs. Taylor back and wish her continued strength and wellness as she transitions back into the rhythm of school life.

Oakwood Adventist Academy proudly presented Make Bethlehem Great Again, a powerful stage play that brought the story of Christ’s birth to life with a modern spin. Through creative storytelling, music, and movement, the production thoughtfully wove current events and today’s worldviews into the timeless message of hope, reminding audiences that the story of Bethlehem still speaks to the world we live in now.
Special recognition goes to Mrs. Drake, our first-grade teacher, whose vision, creativity, and countless hours beyond the school day were instrumental in bringing this production to fruition. Her dedication and heart for students were evident in every detail of the play, and her leadership helped guide our young performers with excellence and care.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Webb and the K–8 Choir, whose voices added depth and spirit to the production, and to Ms. Little and the Gombey’s Dancers, whose movement and expression brought energy and life to the stage. A sincere thank-you to Mr. King and Mr. Mountain for bringing our stable for the set to life and to the entire cast for their commitment, courage, and joy in sharing such a meaningful message.
We are especially grateful to Pastor Lee and Huntsville First Seventh-day Adventist Church for graciously hosting the play and ensuring that audio and video needs were met seamlessly, allowing the message to be shared without interruption. Finally, thank you to our families, supporters, and community members whose encouragement and presence made this production truly special.
Make Bethlehem Great Again was more than a performance, it was a reminder that faith remains relevant, hope is needed, and Christ’s story continues to resonate across generations. Enjoy the pictorial tour, watch and share the playback via the button below.
