For Language Arts, we use the Wonders Reading Program. The curriculum is made up of several different components. Within the period, the students work on reading, spelling, grammar, and writing skills.

Reading:

This is the second year we will be using the McGraw Hill's Wonders program. Your child will be receiving a username and password. You can access more information here:

Spelling:

The students will have spelling homework. They also receive worksheets throughout the week. If a worksheet is not sent home for homework, please take a few minutes to have your child practice their words any way you would like. For example, they could spell the words aloud to you, or write them down as you give them each word from the list. Students will be taking spelling tests online this year.

Grammar:

There is a grammar skill that goes along with each story in the reading series. After working with the skill for about a week, the students will have a short quiz.
