Flashback to last year, sophomore, new to the school, an outsider. I had just moved from Georgia to Florida. Although I had lived in Florida my whole life, except for my freshman year, it was a new environment, filled with new faces. I chose this school for their theatre program because it was known to be one of the bests. Coming to a new school, I had hoped to make friends through this program. Ones with the same interests and aspirations as me. Not only did I make friends, I made my best friends who, hopefully, will remain my best friends for years to come. Auditioning for the musical, "Cabaret", opened my eyes to a world of opportunity. Going into the audition room, palms shaking, my whole body shutting down from nerves, I didn't know what to expect. Two days later, seeing my name across from "Kit Kat Girl" was one of my best and happiest days. At first I thought it must have been a mistake but walking in the next day and everyone congratulating me, hugging me, reality set in that I was a Kit Kat Girl. Throughout the four months we had to rehearse, my bond with these five girls and my own character grew stronger. I grew a deep connection with this show that I will hold forever. I had never felt this passionate or determined towards something before, especially a show. I had done shows in the past but this was one I was proud to say I was in. This show has shaped me to become the girl I am today. It has shown me what it is like to truly love what you do, it has shown me the people I want to associate myself with and most importantly, it has shown me what it's like to be my best and happiest self. For that I am truly grateful.
