This was me two years ago in Mendoza, Argentina. I took this trip with my grand parents to go back to the motherland and go visit family I have never met before. Getting there I could not wait to experience such a new adventure, being in a new environment, and culture around me, it was all excitement from the moment I started packing. Just being able to see my roots and getting to meet them was really exciting, and mind opening that there is so much family that I don't know about that are waiting to see me, and excited to see me because they have heard so much about me. But being able to witness the family and the city I have never been able to see, is what changed my life. Seeing the impoverished city that my roots are from and how kids my age are helping there parents pay for food that is on the table every night, really opened my mind and put me in shock of how lucky I am to have what I have around me. My cousins walk to a far school, then right from school they go train for soccer, then they go work to make money for their family, all with a smile on their face because they know they have to to better the lives of the people that are closest to them. being able to go on this adventure and witness my family that work so hard, really changed my life for the better and gave me necessary morals that has helped me become the person I am today.
