An important story is of when I went to Five Star basketball camp in 7th grade. This story is important because it is when I first started to take basketball serious. The camp was held at Fordham University in the Bronx and it was a week long sleepover camp. Through the duration of the camp there were many skills drills and also a lot of live play. The camp helped tremendously because all of the coaches there were experienced basketball players so it made it even easier to fully take in all of their advice. At the end of the camp they handed out awards and I received Best Defender. This was a great honor especially since I was competing against some of the best athletes in New York and especially since I wasn't the best or the strongest kid there it was that much more special and showed me that hard work pays off.
