A passion that I value greatly in my life is dance. I started dancing when I was just three years old, because my mom put me in classes. As a young child, dance was just a hobby I did alongside many other things, such as soccer and baseball. As I grew older, I realized that the only thing I wanted to do was dance, and that's what I've been doing ever since. Dance gives me a way to express myself without using words, but by using movements instead. It is an escape from all the stress and negativity in my life, because all I need to focus on is dancing. It has helped me grow as a person because I learned that I do not need to always worry about what other people think about me, and that my biggest competition is myself. Not just in dance, but in everything I do. Dancing has helped me to feel comfortable in my own skin, which is crucial in living a happy life. I don't know what I would do without it!
Dance Theatre is the studio I have danced at my entire life. Dancing at this studio has been a blessing for me, and I am very fortunate to be able to train at such an amazing place. I have met some of my best friends here, which makes it an even more fun experience.
This video is one my my studio's most awarded dances, "I look to you," choreographed by Danielle Mednick. This was my favorite number of last year's competition season, and this dance means a lot to me. It has been almost a year but I still remember every step!
