My path to become the person that I am today was not easy. As a teenager, I have needs and dreams, but not always both come together. Since I was a young girl, my dream has always been to be a singer and to achieve it I had to give up on a lot of things. I had to give up on the place I call home, I had to leave my friends and family in order to chase the dream I always wanted to come true.
That's why my story started when I moved to the U.S. Florida, 2872 miles of distance from my hometown and a place that I never thought that I one day would be able to call home. One year ago, I arrived here and with it came, responsibilities, homesickness, difficulties and goals. I had left all my old life behind and started from scratch, this made me become the person that I am today, a responsible, ambitious, caring and independent girl. It isn't as easy as everyone think it is. It gives you a lot of insecurities, hard times, obstacles, drama, but it is worth it at the end.
All the crying makes you tougher, wiser and you learn how to get over thing on your own. I'm not going to lie, I still cry and I still worry about my friends and family in Brazil, but I know that once I get where I want to be, I'll look back and see that every minute I spent away from the people I care, will be compensated.
