Our Mission
Fenner Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the managing body of Fenner Nature Center, connects people to nature in the heart of Lansing through conservation, education, and stewardship.
What We Do
Our year-round work creates inclusive, nature-based experiences that foster environmental care for people of all ages. This work can be anywhere from wildlife education and habitat restoration to early childhood programs; we’re dedicated to strengthening the bond between people and the natural world.
Environmental Education
Fenner Nature Center offers place-based learning for local school districts, college students, community groups, and families. Our programs empower youth and adults to connect to nature, understand environmental issues, and become thoughtful stewards of the land.
Early-childhood Development
Fenner Nature Preschool strengthens early childhood development by encouraging immersive, open-ended play with families in our community. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our program empowers children to explore, ask questions, and build foundational skills through meaningful experiences in nature.
