Solo Day

All 4th and 5th-grade orchestra students have the opportunity to perform at Solo Day!

Solo Day gives students an opportunity to:

-prepare a solo thoroughly with piano accompaniment

-perform it for an audience and adjudicator

-build musical skills and practice habits

Practice makes progress! Students should be practicing their solo at home every day.

Performance times will be sent home close to the performance date. Please send a note, email, or text if your child will be unable to participate or if you know you need a certain time.

Thank you for supporting your child at this exciting performance opportunity!

Stringfest!

5th-grade orchestra students will spend the morning at Magic City Campus rehearsing their concert music, participating in instrumental sectionals, having a donut party, and listening to the Minot High School Orchestra. Students will be bussed back to their home schools before lunch. Parents are asked to bring their students back to MCC that evening by 5:30 PM so they can warm-up and get tuned for the Stringfest final concert at 6:00 PM.

4th-grade orchestra students are excused after lunch and bussed to Magic City Campus for an afternoon of orchestra fun. They will be rehearsing their concert music, participating in instrumental sectionals, eating pizza, and will conclude the day with a concert at 6:00 PM in the Magic City Campus Gym.
