On March 7th, 2026, our robotics team competed in the LAUSD District Championships! We were not only able to show the other teams what we had to offer, but we took this opportunity in connecting with more FIRST teams and got a better understanding what our robot needed to be improved. Even though our season ended short, we were able to make new friends and gather ideas for next year's game!
On December 17, 2025, we hosted a first time event; a Christmas movie night!! During this event, we were able to spread a joyous Christmas spirit towards our students and East Los Angeles community. Our team sold pizza, drinks, and buttery popcorn as a means of building more revenue for our club.
While participating in this scrimmage on November 15th 2025, we were able to reconfigure our robot more; however, we did encounter some new problems/issues. We worked collaboratively to solve these issues and were able to shoot even more artifacts into the goal.
During Garfield's Centennial Anniversary on September 5th 2025, our club took the opportunity to promote our club to Garfield's alumni, families, and students to show them what our robotics club has to offer. Additionally, we sold our merchandise as a means of fundraising; We sold 3D-Printed Bulldog statues, t-shirts, and sweaters.
On February 7, 2026, our team competed in the LAUSD Region East Qualifier competition. We were able to show our competing teams and alliance teams who we are and what we are capable of. By the end of this competition, we not only were able to outreach with another robotics team (Artemis), we also made it to LAUSD Region East Championships and won the Sustainability award!
On December 6th, 2025,we competed in our third scrimmage. We were able to refine our robot even more as there was a serious issue with our robot's ramp when it came to launching the artifacts out of the robot. With the help of our teammate and advice from our alliances, we were able to get the ramp working.
On October 25, 2025, we showcased our robot and tested it on the actual game field. We met various teams and collaborated with them to come up with game strategies. We scored our first points through parking and getting a few artifacts (Wiffle-balls) into the goal.
On April 5th 2025, we took part in a workshop organized by UCLA in which we taught K-12 educators how to build their own mini robot and robotics program. Our goal was to provide useful advice in providing young students with more opportunities in STEM.
Our coaches and three of our team members took time to teach students at our school about the design process and team efforts they will get to experience in the club.
On May 22nd 2025, we will host our very first robotics showcase. Our team will demonstrate the robot's movements on the field and allow other students to play around with it. Our team will also share more information about our program and recruit potential members for next year.
We showcased our robot and tested it on the actual game field. We met various teams and collaborated with them to come up with game strategies. We scored our first points through parking.
Our team members created a presentation for the middle school students that visited Garfield. We were able to catch the interest of many incoming students.
In our first ever qualifiers, we participated in an interview with judges and gained experience in answering questions professionally. We advanced to the playoffs and the championships.
We provided a demonstration of our robots to the students and parents attending the student led conferences. We welcomed any student to come join our club bi-weekly after school.
Our robotics team competed in the Regional Championships. In this championship, we were able to communicate effectively with other teams. Unfortunately, we did not move on but we were able to create memorable experiences.
