What is Battle of the Books and how do I participate?

Battle of the Books (or BOB) is a reading competition between middle schools. The competition is a bit like the TV show Family Feud. Students form teams and answer questions about the assigned books they have read. It’s very exciting!

Here is how we do it:

1. Get your friends together and form teams. Teams may have 4-6 members.

2. Pick a name for your team.

3. Read all 30 books on the list OR divide up the reading among team members.

4. Meet Wednesday during lunch for game practice and snacks.

5. Go to Holmes MS on game day. Wear your team jersey!

6. Get excited, cheer loudly, eat pizza, meet other teams, make friends, compete, eat ice cream, win prizes and medals.

7. Take home the winners' trophy!!
