A HyperDoc is a digital document, like a Google Doc or Google Slide deck, that contains an interactive lesson on a topic for students to engage with different resources (video, articles, etc) relating to the topic at their own pace while completing tasks as they engage with the digital document or they may create a product where they apply what they have learned. HyperDocs generally end with reflection, prompting students to reflect on what they've learned and/or what they've created. Some HyperDocs include extension activities and/or lessons.

A Text Set is a collection of several fiction and/or nonfiction texts with a common theme or topic. A "text" in a collection may also include music, poetry, news articles, photographs, and/or videos.

Why use HyperDocs and Multimedia Text Sets?
HyperDocs and Multimedia Text Sets are more than just Docs/Slides with links. They allow students to learn at their own pace while they engage and explore different resources and apply what they've learned. Since students are presented with information/resources from different mediums (online articles, videos, photos, etc), students will be presented with different perspectives and have the opportunity to practice making connections across texts/resources. Students will also get to practice skills learned in class and become independent learners.
