The device
is to be used for education and research only. This applies to its use at school and at home.
Keep the device
with you or in a classroom at all times. Outside the classroom the devuce
must be either with you in your backpack, or in your backpack on a hook.
Do not let anyone use the Chromebook
other than your parents or guardians.
The Chromebook
is the property of LUESD and may be inspected at any time. You should have NO expectations of privacy of materials found on the device
.
The Chromebook
can take photos and videos. Ask permission before recording an individual or group. Recordings and photos taken without permission are subject to disciplinary consequences.
Bring the fully charged Chromebook
to school every day. Disciplinary consequences will occur for failure to do so. (Three incidents equals one violation per trimester.)
The lock screen (screen that appears when the device
is powered on) must show your first and last name, photo, and teacher. It should be easy to read.
You may choose your own wallpaper for the home screen, but all images must be school appropriate. Inappropriate images include (but are not limited to) guns, weapons, inappropriate language, drug, alcohol, or gang activity.
All photos saved to the photo library must be school appropriate and have an educational or research purpose.
You may not modify or delete any settings that change the network monitoring access.
You do not have permission to access music streaming websites on the Chromebook
.
Do not eat or drink while using the Chromebook
.
You must keep the Chromebook safe
at all times. Do not put food or drink in your backpack with your Chromebook
. Carry them separately.
Use the screen cleaning materials in each classroom when you need to clean the iPad. Do not use any other cloth (like your sleeve or a tissue).
You may not use your Chromebook
outside of the classroom unless you are monitored or directed to by a teacher.
If there is a problem with your Chromebook
, or if it is missing, you must tell a staff member immediately.
Students are not allowed to delete browsing history. Students are not allowed to change settings to darken the screen beyond 50%.
Students are not allowed to use incognito or private mode.
All of the rules that are in effect during the school day extend to the use of the device
at home.
