Throughout this process of reflection on the spaces I occupy, was a constant stark reminder of the effect of colonialization and industrialization have shaped and destroyed these places. The land in which this work is inspired by and where the field recordings come from is presently known as Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Due to its situation on Lake Ontario, this area has been th home to many First Nations and Métis people across Turtle Island, from the Attawandaron, the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat the Métis and the most recent stewards being the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Oakville sits on the treaty land of Treaty 14 and 22. The fact that this land is what it is today is due to the centuries of the settlers who have and continue to occupy this land.
