COMMUNITY INPUT
At Lake Country School District our mission is:
to inspire all students to reach their highest potential by providing a tradition of academic excellence and innovative thinking within a supportive community.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT!
Lake Country School District is exploring ways to address operational budget and critical building infrastructure needs. Please consider taking this community-wide survey.
*** Survey is now closed.
We are preparing students for a world that is drastically different than when Lake Country School opened its doors in 1993. Our goal is to provide valuable, future-ready learning experiences for our students and to set them up for success in this modern world.
Lake Country School is a direct reflection of our community, and we understand the need to meet the expectations our community has for us. To honor our communities’ ownership of the school district and to gain community insight and advice, we would like to invite citizens, parents/guardians, staff members, and students to be a part of our facility planning process by joining us in a series of meetings to discuss the operational budget and critical building infrastructure needs of our District.
We recognize the importance of taking care of our school facilities, and understand the investment our community has made. Addressing these concerns before they become significant issues makes good fiscal sense for all and will help us continue our fiscally responsibility.

Meeting #1: December 4, 2023
Participants were led through “School Finance 101” by the school District’s financial advisor, PMA Securities, to better understand how Wisconsin schools are funded.
Financial data was shared to reflect the current status of the District.
Participants learned about critical building infrastructure needs via information extracted from a thorough facility-wide assessment.
Community members were led through a “Brag, Worry, Wonder, Bet” exercise.
Attendees provided important feedback to the School Board via our Four Questions:
What are the most important things the board needs to consider as they work to determine the direction forward?
What are the most important things the community needs to know about the potential school facility opportunities?
What perceptions and/or factors will have the greatest influence on a positive or negative outcome of a future referendum?
As the School Board continues to be transparent about the current status and future plans of our school, who needs to hear this information and how can we communicate this information to them?
Group questions were encouraged throughout the presentation.
