The Mission of Cold Spring School
The Mission of Cold Spring School is to create a learning environment that develops student's natural curiosity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Students will acquire 21st Century skills to become global citizens and stewards of the environment.
The Vision of Cold Spring School
Inspiring a passion for STEM and the Environment.
Connection to Indiana STEM Priorities
The mission and vision of Cold Spring School fully connect to Indiana's Priorities for STEM Education. We utilize STEM pedagogy with research-based best practices, develop STEM leaders and educators, both with our staff and students, and look to increase access to STEM courses, programs, and resources.
As a STEM and environmental science school, we believe we have a moral imperative to ensure all of our students are getting solid, foundational instruction in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics so that they have authentic career choices as they move to high school, college, and beyond.
That is why 100% of our students, both in elementary and middle school, receive STEM based instruction through PLTW Launch and Gateway classes, 100% of our elementary staff is PLTW Lead Teacher certified, and all of our middle school students take at least one STEM elective course offering every year.
Our desire is to inspire a passion for STEM and the environment and we hope you will see that as you review this website and our materials.
