A sample culminating assessment for Morrison's The Bluest Eye is a multimodal Colorism Journal. One part is designed to serve as a dialectical reading journal in its most traditional sense, while the second part is designed to serve as a technology integration of Rosenblatt's Transaction Theory (Reader Response). While reading the journal, student should make connections using Rosenblatt's Transaction Theory (Reader Response). To help them effectively make and interpret those connections, they will design a Pinterest Board by curating text related resources from a wide variety of sources. Underneath each pin, students will provide a 3-4 sentence description of why the selected the resource and how it specifically relates to the novel in one or more of the following aspects:
