Hi! I'm Kristin O'Connor and I am an elementary special education teacher in Grand Forks, ND. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Dan, since 2002. We have two amazing kids, Christopher and Kaylee, and love watching them learn, grow, and enjoy the various activities they participate in.
I LOVE the beach (especially in Southern California!)! It's my favorite place to be! I also love going to Disneyland and pretty much everything Disney. I have been involved in Special Olympics since 1996. I actually met my husband while we were both volunteering for Special Olympics in 1999 and now both of our kids volunteer. (He is now a special education teacher too!) My sister, Erin, has Down Syndrome and has been a HUGE influence on my life. She is pretty much a rock star!
I graduated from the University of North Dakota in December of 2000 with my bachelor's degree in elementary education and May of 2002 with my master's degree in special education. I have been teaching special education since 2002. My first teaching job was in a very tough area in San Diego which was very eye opening for me since I was born and raised in Grand Forks and had never experienced anything like that before! From 2003-2005 I taught in Perris, CA which is about an hour and a half north of San Diego. In 2005, my husband and I decided to move back to Grand Forks to start our family and we have been here ever since.
I LOVE my students and am very passionate about people with disabilities!
