Students will protect their digital identity and reputation, engage in positive, safe, legal, and ethical behavior when using technology, respect intellectual property, and manage the privacy and security of their digital data.
Teachers will model and teach digital citizenship by creating experiences for learners to make positive, empathetic contributions online, promoting the critical examination of online resources, mentoring students in safe, legal and ethical practices with digital tools, protecting intellectual rights and property of creators, and protecting student data privacy.
Administrators will promote and model digital citizenship by practicing safe, ethical and legal use of technology and requiring the same behavior of staff and students, ensuring access to technology for all students, creating expectations of digital literacy and responsible use of technology instruction in all classrooms.
All students will begin the school year by completing the Responsible Use of GCS Technology Canvas course for their grade level.
Each month thereafter, resources will be provided for teaching digital citizenship topics using the Common Sense Education Digital Citizenship* curriculum. Click the buttons below to access the monthly grade level resources.
