Materials

Materials:

• September: candy pumpkins (or something to substitute for them), craft sticks, small plastic lid (or something to serve as platform/bucket for the item being launched), small cups, rubber bands in various sizes

• Hispanic Heritage Month: 20 index cards or sheets of paper, 1 meter of masking tape, 4 rubber bands 

• October: dental floss, thread, yarn, two chairs, plastic spider (or something to serve as a substitute)

• November: paper turkey (or something to serve as a substitute), wooden blocks, construction or other think paper, paper towel rolls, plastic straws, cloth or felt

• Native American Heritage Month: Aluminum foil (one 12”x12” square per group),plastic tubs or bins of water, pennies, paper clips, or small washers (as weights) 

• December: marshmallows, toothpicks or other small sticks

• January: paper, cardboard, yarn or string, cotton balls, craft sticks

• February: bait for the leprechaun (like coins or cereal), green construction paper, craft sticks, rubber bands, small box, tissue paper

• Black History Month: Flashlight or LED tea light , Paper (construction or printer), Aluminum foil, Tape, Scissors 

• March: crepe paper streamers, plastic grocery bags, tissue paper, wooden dowels or sticks, string, newspaper or other thin paper

• Women's History Month: Paper (for spacecraft) String or rubber bands Tape Ruler or measuring tape Target (cup, paper plate, or taped square on the floor) 

• April: coins or something of similar weight and size, yarn, construction paper, pattern blocks

• Arab American Heritage Month: 20 index cards OR 10 sheets of regular paper, Scissors, Masking tape or painter’s tape (about 2 feet per team), A flat surface (desk or table), Small weights for testing (books, canned goods, or other classroom-safe objects) 

• May: action figure (or a substitute) that sinks in water, resealable plastic bags, pool noodle pieces or other foam, bubble packaging material or other plastic cushioning, straws, rubber bands

• Jewish American Heritage Month: Straws, toothpicks, pencils, Tape, paper, foil, Cardboard base, Optional: LED tea light (for effect) 

• Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month: Construction paper, tape, string, paper clips, straws, scissors.
