THINK of
Appropriate
Makers' Attire
==================
What type of clothing is appropriate for art-making activity?
Do think about dressing-up appropriately for art-making so that you do not have to worry about showing too much skin or damaging brand new clothes and or shoes.
Do think about taking care of yourself - - in terms of sanitation and hygiene. Every semester, there had always been mold infestation on clay projects as well as red hot Cheetos stains on art projects.
Here are some suggestions:
Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing for fun & messy art- making.
Avoid brand new clothes and shoes.
Tie-up long hair.
Trimmed nails - long or acrylic nails are not appropriate for art-making.
Eating/Drinking does not take place in the studio. Keep hands free of food/drink items.
Remember to wear clothing that are appropriate for fun and messy art-making business!

Arts Standards
What does a standards-based visual arts program look like in the classroom?
These four artistic processes are addressed in written standards, just like any other disciplines, but are envisioned to occur simultaneously in the actual practice of Visual Art.
The artist imagines, refines, and completes a piece of work (creating), shares the work (performing), reflects on the process (responding), and connects the experience to other contexts of meaning or knowledge (connecting).
Studio Habits of Mind
What will students do? What will students learn?
My studio classes are set up in ways for students to learn different art techniques and practice art-making using clay and glass alined with thinking dispositions of the Studio Habits of Mind. For distance learning though, students will be moving up to the higher level of learning and thinking as they are given a voice in choosing their own medium in the art-making. Please don't forget to take the Survey in the Student-Parent Classroom Agreement Form regarding arts supplies for ceramics and mosaic art.
The basic supplies for art journaling has already been distributed at the drive-thru pick up. Students will need: iPad, Art Journals, writing tools, and some coloring tools to every class meetings.
Art lessons and projects are given a grade based on:
Arts Pathways Awards
Parents/Guardians we need your help!
How can parent and guardians support student learning?
Parents/guardians are invited to Google Classroom and Artsonia. Please accept my invitation to these two groups to support student learning. I can also help with providing "Parent Code".
Students will be documenting learning on two digital portfolios: Google Slide Presentation and Artsonia. The Google Slide Presentation called "My Digital Portfolio" or "_____'s Digital Portfolio" are found in the student's Google Classroom. Students will also share this document with you via email and ask parent/guardian input from time to time.
The finished artwork along with the artist statement will be showcased on Artsonia, the progress to art-making alined with Studio Habits are documented on the student's Google Slide. It is expected that students update Google Slide digital portfolio every week and post an artwork on Artsonia at least once every other week.
Parents can support student learning by visiting these sites as well as having conversations of their art-making progress. Invitation to Artsonia has been sent to students and parents at the beginning of the semester. Please contact me for details.
