Ceramics at LV is a semester long studio class. Coming from the Greek word "keramos(κέραμος), ceramics is the art of making decorative or functional wares using clay as a medium and treating it with fire. In this introductory level class, students learn the property of clay, stages of the ceramic process, and the three basic hand-building skills in ceramics.
Student that pass beginning ceramics with A- or better, has artwork submitted to an art show, are encouraged to apply for advanced level class to focus on intermediate/ advanced hand-building studio class, and/or beginning/advanced wheel throwing class.
