"In the first two thirds of the year my daughter learned and flourished under Mrs. McBean's enthusiastic care, but it wasn't until the stay home order came that I learned what an amazing teacher she really is. In the first weeks of lockdown, she provided ample activities and encouragement for her uncertain students. As the state switched to permanent online learning she took her teaching to a whole new level. She developed meaningful interactive content for Google classroom that made my daughter excited to log into school in the morning. Her communication was frequent and consistent; her instructional guidance was easy to understand. She utilized a variety of digital platforms to communicate new concepts and kept her enthusiasm and caring strong through several face-to-face activities through the week. She met with me as a parent, working to ensure my daughter's continued learning when things got challenging.  Despite the abrupt transition, Mrs. McBean's commitment to her students, technical savvy and boundless enthusiasm buoyed us all through an incredibly challenging time. I am so grateful that my daughter had Mrs. McBean and believe she deserves special recognition for going above and beyond my expectations to help her students succeed during the pandemic."
