Award Selections
Please note that our awards process has evolved. While we previously aimed to ensure every student received an award, our teachers now select recipients based on specific criteria such as significant improvement, positive behavior, and individual progress. This approach is designed to meaningfully incentivize students to excel and maintain focus during class.
Award Etiquette and Sportsmanship
Please speak with your dancer about sportsmanship when sharing spaces with other teams. We expect every child to represent both the studio and their family positively; negative comments regarding other dancers or teams are strictly prohibited. During the awards ceremony, students should refrain from using cell phones, clap for all recipients, and remain positive regardless of the outcome.
Understanding the Awards Process
Competition rankings are based on average age, the number of students in the routine, and the entry performance level (novice, intermediate, or competitive/advanced). Guidelines often vary by competition.
When reviewing programs, please identify your child’s specific age group, level, and group size (small or large) to find comparable routines. Please be aware that groups competing against each other do not always perform back-to-back, which can be confusing for those new to the circuit.
