This website is created through the initiative of Changhua International Education and English Teaching Resource Center. It aims to share my experiences and best practices in teaching in Taiwan.
As a language teacher, my philosophy is grounded in three core principles that guide how I engage students in the learning process.
First, I believe in the power of play. Learning a language should be enjoyable and relatable, not a chore. By incorporating games, interactive activities, and creative exercises, I aim to foster a sense of fun and curiosity around language learning. This approach not only makes the experience more engaging but also helps students connect with reading, writing, speaking, and listening in a meaningful way.
Second, I emphasize the importance of consistent practice and gradual progression. Language acquisition is a journey, and students thrive when tasks are challenging yet achievable. I carefully design lessons that build on prior knowledge, providing opportunities for incremental growth. This ensures that students feel empowered as they take on increasingly complex tasks, reinforcing their confidence and competence.
Lastly, I am committed to ensuring that students see a clear connection between classroom learning and the real world. Language is not just something to be practiced within the confines of the classroom—it’s a tool for communication that extends beyond it. I strive to integrate practical, real-life applications into my teaching, helping students understand how they can apply what they’ve learned in authentic contexts, both in and outside of school.
Apart from school activities, you will also see here my experiences in Taiwan. Get a glimpse of my daily routine, hobbies, and trips.
