our 8th grade year is jam packed and
filled with life, earth, and physical science knowledge!

8th Grade Curriculum Outline
Unit 1: Matter, Energy, and Motion, including Newton’s Three Laws of Motion
Unit 2: Non-contact Forces such as Magnetic & Electromagnetic Forces and Gravity
Unit 3: Space Science with Emphases on our Solar System and Galaxy Formation
Unit 4: Earth through the Geologic Time Scale and Fossil Exploration
Unit 5: Evolution and Biotechnology with Focus on DNA Discovery
Unit 6: Waves and their Interaction with Matter
Unit 7: Technology and Human Impact on Earth Systems
In addition to Science, Ms. Spencer also instructs and mentors Builders Club, a philanthropic elective for 8th graders at CPMS involved with school fundraising and community service.
