Welcome to our site on Suicide Prevention and Awareness. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, death by suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States, taking lives of almost 45,000 Americans annually. Those of us who created this site and corresponding presentation at Arts Under the Stars have been directly or indirectly affected by the completed or attempted suicide of a loved one or friend and felt the need to get information out to our community. Our hope is to raise awareness about death by suicide and provide resources to those interested or in need of support.
