Hi! My name is Mine Üçok Hughes.
I am currently (May 2017) an Associate Professor of Marketing at School of Business at Woodbury University in Burbank, California where I teach undergraduate and MBA-level courses in the field of marketing. I am particularly interested in studying non-mainstream consumers. For my doctoral dissertation, I conducted a multi-sited ethnography in Turkey and Denmark studying the consumption practices of transmigrants. I am currently studying sustainable marketing and consumption in sustainable intentional communities called ecovillages.
Starting Fall 2017, I will be leaving Woodbury and start my new tenure-track position at California State University Los Angeles. I have taught one full online Principles of Marketing course at Cal State University Channel Islands in Spring 2017 which I enjoyed very much. I hope to continue to teach online and/or hybrid classes in the future as I believe there are a lot of new and exciting software available that would enhance online learning and also support traditional face-to-face learning.
I have completed Humanizing Online Learning and OTPP: Online Teaching Preparation Program in Spring 2017 with Michelle Pacansky-Brock, EdD and earned the digital badge which you see below. You can click on the badge to find out more.
