Dear Bradbury Families,
Looking back over these first ten weeks, it is incredible to see how much we have accomplished together as a vibrant school community! As we go into the mid term break, it's an opportune time to stop, reflect and celebrate all the efforts and achievements we have done so far.
From welcoming our new Year 1 students and connecting at our 'You Tell Us' meetings and parent coffee mornings, to our very popular Open Days, PTA Mahjong Night, Year 1 play morning, Year 2 helper appreciation picnic and sausage sizzle lunch, every moment has brought us closer together. Tuesday's sausage sizzle lunch was filled with so much joy and fun; I could not believe just how many hotdogs our students ate and how many parents showed up to help! A huge thank you as well to those very organised parents who brought in fantastic costumes to make the classroom deliveries even more entertaining.
And that's not all…We’ve also enjoyed weekly assemblies, celebrated Year 4’s inspiring assembly, cheered on Year 5 and Year 4 at camp, hosted visiting musicians, and shared meaningful parent workshops on Chinese, digital safety, and portfolios.
Over the past ten weeks, we have also made great progress on our two main school priorities. First, we’ve focused on strengthening our wonderful school community by revisiting our core values and working together with parents to build a warm, supportive environment where every child feels they belong. Thanks to the wonderful input and feedback from our parents on what it means to belong at Bradbury and be a Bradbury parent, we are now nearly ready to share that work published as a parent pledge. Second, we’ve been enhancing our maths program by focusing on consistent, high-quality teaching and carefully tracking each student's progress so we can support and challenge every child at their own level. It is wonderful to see these efforts making such a positive difference in our classrooms!
Behind all of this energy is a deep sense of pride, belonging, and community that shines through every day. It is reflected in the high level of professionalism and dedication from our staff, the tremendous support and commitment from our families, and, most importantly, in the joyful, thriving learning environment our students experience at Bradbury. Thank you all for making this half term so extraordinary!
Enjoy the mid-term break and look forward to seeing you all again in a week with school starting again on Tuesday 27 October.
Warm wishes
Skye Jeynes

Please be reminded that Monday, 26 October 2026 is an ESF CPD Day, and there will be no classes for students on this day. Regular classes will resume on Tuesday, 27 October 2026.
At Bradbury School, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of belonging. In today's assembly, we launched an inquiry to explore what belonging means through our students' eyes—unpacking their thoughts, feelings, and how a sense of belonging shapes the way we interact and behave together as a community. The students demonstrated fantastic listening skills, shared their ideas thoughtfully, and thoroughly enjoyed diving into our launch story.
We encourage you to ask your child about their feelings of belonging at Bradbury School and what actions they can take to help others feel included. Today, we discussed using kind words, offering a helping hand, and inviting peers to join in during play.
We are excited to share that starting Tuesday, 27th October, Bradbury School will launch new Class/specialist Landing Pages for each year group, specialist area, and Chinese teaching team. These pages are designed to serve as a central, up-to-date hub to keep you connected with your child's learning and daily school routines.
Here is an overview of what you will find on the new pages:
Direct Access to Learning Links: Centralised links to support classroom learning (such as Epic, Mathletics, and reading lists) can now be updated directly by teachers.
Timetables: Clear weekly timetables outlining class routines, including swimming schedules (Years 4–6), library days, PE, Performing Arts (PA), and assemblies.
Trips & School Experiences: Access details about class visits, camps, parent volunteering opportunities (eg, reading support), open mornings, and relevant medical or permission forms. (Note: Class photos will continue to be shared via your child's portfolio).
Units of Inquiry (UOI) Overviews: A clear outline of your child's curriculum units for the year, including themes, central ideas, and lines of inquiry.
Parent Learning Resources: Helpful prompt sheets, guidebooks, and slides to support learning at home (such as Home Reading tips).
Curriculum Newsletters: Easy access to Year Group and Specialist newsletters published throughout the year.
Inclement Weather Learning: Quick links to class-specific folders for home learning materials during bad weather events. This will limit the need for multiple communications.
Meet the Team: Photos and names of the teachers, Educational Assistants, and support staff working directly with your children.
All links and materials on the landing pages will be regularly managed and updated by our teaching teams to ensure you always have access to current information.
Extra-Curricular Activities are back and better than ever! Whether your child is diving into a full-term favourite or jumping into a brand-new adventure right after the term break, there's something for everyone to get excited about.

Let the fun begin!
On Wednesday, 14th October, Year 6 netballers travelled to the Wong Chuk Hang netball courts for an action-packed afternoon of competition, taking to the court with one boys team and one girls team.
The boys team put on a dominant display across their 4 games against ESF Glenealy and Quarry Bay School. They went undefeated, wrapping up the afternoon with 3 wins and 1 draw.
Our girls team faced a demanding schedule, playing 7 matches against Quarry Bay, French International School, Glenealy, and Kellett. Demonstrating incredible stamina, team spirit, and execution on the court, the girls secured an outstanding 6 wins and just 1 loss.
It was a fantastic afternoon of netball overall, and every single student made Bradbury proud by putting their hard work from training into action.
A huge thank you goes to Mrs Leonard for being match-day coach for the boys team, as well as to all the parents who came along to cheer and show their support from the sidelines.
We are already looking forward to our next fixture on Wednesday, 28th October, where Bradbury will be expanding its squad to bring two girls teams and two boys teams.
How This Project Helps Children
For the Recipient: A Box of Hope delivers essential learning supplies (pencils, notebooks), hygiene items (soap, toothbrush), and fun activities that bring immense joy, pride, and educational support to children who might otherwise go without.
For Our Students: It turns abstract ideas like "kindness" and "charity" into a personal experience. As children choose items, pack the box, and decorate the cover, they forge an authentic emotional connection to the act of giving.
How Bradbury Families Can Get Involved
We invite all families to pack a box together at home over the October holiday! Here is how to participate (Watch this video):
Get an Medium-Sized Shoe Box: Wrap the box and lid separately in bright wrapping paper so the box can still be opened for safety checks. DO NOT TAPE THE LID SHUT-USE A RUBBER BAND!
Decide the Age & Gender: Label your box clearly with the intended recipient (e.g., Boy, Age 6-8 or Girl, Age 9-11).
Fill the Box with Love: Please pack a balanced mix from these four categories (follow the instructions on the label):
TO TEACH: Pencils, pens, erasers, sharpeners, notebooks, coloring books, crayons.
TO HYGIENE: Toothbrush, toothpaste, bar soap, washcloth, comb/brush.
TO FUN: Small toy, ball, yo-yo, puzzle, card game, stuffed animal.
TO WEAR: Socks, hat, hair accessories, sunglasses.
Attach the Donation Label: Stick the sticker on the lid of the box and make sure it is completed fully
Drop-Off at School: Have your child bring their completed box to the office by WEDNESDAY, 4th NOVEMBER.
Note: Please do not include liquids, food/sweets, fragile items, clothing, medicines or war-related toys (guns/knives).
Please feel free to refer to the Box of Hope website for further instructions and videos. https://www.boxofhope.org/en/h...
Thank you for partnering with us to teach our children the power of kindness and global action. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's class teacher, Ms Fritzi or the PYP Coordinator.
Years 4 to 6 were treated to an unforgettable musical experience today as the Music Office Instructor's Wind Ensemble paid a special visit to the school.
Students were immersed in the captivating world of wind instruments, discovering the unique craftsmanship, vibrant personalities, and distinct voices behind each instrument. From exploring how sound waves come alive to enjoying breathtaking live performances, our young musicians were left inspired, eager to listen closer, and reminded of the incredible power of music to unite and uplift.
Yesterday, we hosted the Year 2 Appreciation Picnic, a lovely event to celebrate our wonderful caregivers. Together with their special person, the students painted rocks, read books, collaborated on a beautiful handprint mural, and expressed their gratitude for all that their carers do. We concluded our morning with "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars. A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who supported this event; we appreciate the coordination and effort it took for you to be there.
The Year 4 students have enjoyed a great two days at camp! Many students had their first experience of coasteering and canyoning as well as paddling on a giant SUP and team building challenges on the beach. They have shown amazing resilience, courage to try new things and have been working as a team to help everyone in their group!
Our young tech innovators have officially wrapped up an incredible session of the Computer Game Design ECA! Over the past weeks, students have been hard at work coding, designing, and bringing their own interactive worlds to life.
The games are now live and published for everyone to try out. Dive into their creations, test out their levels, and let them know what you think of their awesome creations!
Bradbury School has been collecting food to donate to individuals and families living in poverty. Giving back is a core part of our community spirit, and we would like to thank all the parents and students for your continued generosity and for helping our students learn the value of supporting our wider community. A special thank you goes to Jenice, mum of Isaiah Li (5S), who generously donated a large quantity of rice!
