In this world there are band instruments that look accurate but are not built with the same quality and craftsmanship of the time tested brands. These newer items are generally shiney but are also difficult to play and maintain.
If you find in instrument you are interested in buying/renting, please feel free to contact me if you would like my input.
There are also local music stores that offer name-brand instruments at fair prices.
If there is a brand you would recommend to add to the list, please send me an email so that we can discuss the matter.
Brands are listed in alphabetical order and to the best of my knowledge and experience. The list is neither definitive nor final.

Band Karate is a program that gives students the opportunity to earn belts as they progress through their workbook. With each new skill learned students will collect belts you will that attach to your instrument case for the world to see!
Each belt is earned by mastering particular exercises. Mastery is granted when the student demonstrates correct notes, rhythms, pulse, and proper tone.
4th grade and 5th grade band students have the opportunity to earn belts
You cannot skip a level.
PRACTICE FIRST! You must feel you have mastered the
exercise before attempting it for credit.
You may have up to two attempts per day.
All written materials must be fully completed, and the
exercise must also be performed on your instrument.
Count yourself in to demonstrate steady beat.
Belts are earned by completing and testing specific exercise
I will leave at least 5 minutes at the beginning of lessons for testing time
