what is a zine?Ā
a zine (pronounced "zeen") is a small-circulation, self-published, and often non-commercial booklet produced out of passion rather than profit. i love to make batches of ten from one folded 8.5x11" and hand them out to friends or people i meet out and about :)

what is a cyanotype?
cyanotypes are a 19th-century camera-less photo printing process that produces cyan-blue prints. it uses UV light to expose paper or fabric coated with iron salts, creating prussian blue images positive/negative images. these are often called "sun prints," but sometimes when there isnt enough sun, or i have to print alot at once, i use a UV light in my basement :)

even though i've been keeping a sketchbook non-stop since i was in sixth grade in 2013, these are only some of my most recent ones. initially, i was inspired by the sketchbook tours of the 2010 calarts students, digitizing my daily practice is something that has always been important to me.
