James is the Vice-Principal at Sinclair Secondary School in Whitby, Ontario at the Durham District School Board. For most of his career, he taught Canadian and American History, and Social Justice to high school students.

Patricia is the Program Manager for the Regional Municipality of Durham's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Department. She has an extensive career in anti-racism education and curriculum development.
